Pre-production refers to everything you have to do before you actually begin to film your video. It is essential in the filmmaking process, because without proper planning, your production could run over time, the film could go over budget, or you could find yourself in the editing room with missing content. Some even say, “Production is pre-production.” Whether its storyboarding, location scouting, or budgeting, each of the steps below plays a crucial role in the success of your project.

  • Storyboards & Shot Lists

  • Location Scouting

  • Create a Proper Budget (and Stick to It!)

  • Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse

Video Shoot

Video Production

The production process lasts from the first day of your shoot to the last day of your shoot. Although almost every detail concerning the shoot should have been planned during the pre-production stage, there’s still a ton of work to be done, including:

  • Setting up the lights

  • Setting up the camera

  • Directing the actors

  • Filming B-roll footage

Post Production

Once filming is completed, the post-production process begins. A lot of people mistakenly think that editing the footage together is all that it consists of.
This is actually one of the most involved parts of the video production process. Post-production typically includes the following:

  • Editing

  • Sound design and mixing

  • Voice over work

  • Special effects

  • Graphics and text

  • Coloring
